What is baking paper?

Baking paper or parchment paper is a specific greaseproof, warmth-resistant and non-stick paper available in rolls. Because baking paper is greaseproof, it doesn't allows fats or oil to seep through it. This is ideal for baking things such as biscuits where after baking, you don't want puddles of butter everywhere.

The paper offers a defensive barrier preventing grease from soaking through.  Greaseproof paper is manufactured from unbleached paper with a specific barrier to repel grease. It normally is manufactured in rolls or sheets.

Greaseproof paper is produced from natural wood pulp which offers great grease resistance and oil resistant properties. Paper prevents penetration of oil & fat, this helps preserve the unique taste and flavor of ther food product. Greaseproof paper works well in most environments from ovens to deep freezers.

Greaseproof paper is ideal for wrapping foods for take-away or storage. It works well with greasy or fatty products including butter, bacon, or doughnuts. It is also ideal to split layers of pancakes, cookies, or even different baked items for storage. Greaseproof paper can be moved from a freezer to a fridge, or to a microwave without any issues. Greaseproof paper is also widely used to line cake and muffin tins, although it can require light greasing in some applications.
